Company History

Priority One began inspecting homes about 30 years ago. In a typical year, Priority One conducts inspections on

  • 450 homes
  • 50 septic systems
  • 50 well systems
  • 20 in-ground pools
  • 100 outbuildings.

Moreover, on a typical year, Priority One conducts mold, radon, lead, or asbestos testing on about 130 homes.

The company draws experience from a vast array of residential construction trades, extensive building of new homes, remodeling of existing homes, and formal Bachelor of Science education in science and engineering.

Priority One oversees and develops college course training in building codes, builders licensing, home inspection, testing/inspecting for mold, lead-based paint renovation, repair, and painting.

Priority One places a keen focus on details, changes in building codes, continuous education, customer education, and home safety.

Priority One has been an expert witness in court proceedings and stays current in legislative requirements for home building, home renovation, and contracting for repairs on your home.

Personal Biography

Kurt Deming is President of Priority One Home Inspections. He personally conducts each home inspection and environmental test, and writes each inspection report. The company employs the services of an administrative assistant, secretary, and accountant.

Kurt is a State of Michigan Approved Instructor and teaches 13 courses at local colleges in builder's licensing, code updates, mold testing, lead-paint work protocol, and home inspection.

Kurt has worked hands-on in the residential construction industry for about 35 years, and has conducted over 8000 home inspections.
